Bobatea AU

We created this game for the ZenoJam 2022 with a group consisting of 4 people: a graphic artist, a developer, a writer and me.

It is still in production, because after creating a somewhat running first demo, we decided to continue with it, and create the whole thing.

The Story

You work in a Bobatea shop, and your main task is to serve the customers. It’s hard – you have no clue what type of teas they would like – and there is quite a lot combinations!

And they talk to you about their problems and you feel the unholy urge to mingle with their lives.

The goal is to serve the fitting bobatea combination to each customer. There are some ingredients that depend on the customer, some on the surrounding situation, or weather. The game has visual novel elements at it’s core – the interactions are included in a dialogue with the customers, or in a stream of messages from the player’s mysterious boss.

The player is prompted to offer advice to each customer, when they describe various situations to them. Advicing them has consequences: on one hand, they receive help in their quest (giving them their preferred Boba tea), on the other, their advice has unintended effects on the customers’ life.
